Molson Coors is a brewery, which is located in the United Kingdom with a capacity of 2,000 kg CO2/h. During fermentation, nearly equal amounts of alcohol and CO2 are generated. The CO2 production is approximately 2.5 kg CO2 per hectolitre of beer recovered from original wort of 12 degrees Plato. Assuming a beer of 13 degrees Plato, this results in 2.9 to 3 kg of CO2. During production, only half of the generated CO2 is needed (1,000 kg CO2/h) and the remaining CO2 is cooled down in a separate cooling system.
